Vivek Ramaswamy will run for Ohio Governor, it appears. The announcement isn’t a real “announcement,” though. It’s an announcement that he will announce. Or something.
The plan is for Ramaswamy to wrap up his DOGE work before moving on to an Ohio campaign:
“Vivek’s base plan remains [the] same: to get accomplishments at DOGE and then announce a run for governor shortly,” said an Ohio operative familiar with Ramaswamy’s thinking who spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak freely about the former presidential candidate’s intentions.

Trump has said DOGE’s work must be completed by “no later” than July 4, 2026” — prior to the Ohio gubernatorial election in November 2026.
In the interim, we’ve all learned that Lt. Gov. John Husted will be replacing JD Vance in the Senate.
